How it started... Originally this started as an experiment for us to try out some of our ideas and a place for our homepage. Ever since it has grown and evolved so we decided to make this a permanent part of our endeavour. This site is for sharing of ideas, skills and experiences on things we know. Currently it is on photography, film camera and digital camera, and also to showcase our photographs on the photo gallery and photo essay. There are also write-ups on home computing and how and where you can find freeware, open source software and shareware for beginners. We just added a fun page with javascript game and a freeware and shareware review sections. More are in the pipeline and will be posted on the site news when ready. So stay tuned for updates......

Konica or Monica
Some spell checker! laughing
A few days back when I was composing an answer to a user question on Konica Minolta camera the spell checker from OpenOffice insisted that I wrongly spelt Konica and the correct spelling should be Monica Minolta! Ha, anyone interested to start a new camera company you got a ready name Monica Minolta smile
This reminds me many years back when I was using Microsoft Word 6 to write a letter to my colleague and the spell checker thought I misspelt my colleague's name and it changed it to "Zenith is man" Guess what is my colleague's name. Hehehe ...... His name is Zainal Izman tongue
I always thought I was a poor speller. At least now I know most word processor is just as good as me, what a consolation laughing

Planned server outage on May 23, 2004
Visitors who visited us last night, May 16, around 12:00AM Kuala Lumpur time (+8:00GMT) might have experienced some problems connecting to our site. The problem was due to our Data Centre doing some unscheduled maintenance and causing the outage and slowdown of the server. We and the web hosting company that hosted our site are unhappy with what those technicians at the Data Centre did, even though they said they were trying to fix some problem on the server! angry We feel that the Data Centre should inform us in advance of what they are doing since we are their customers. However this Data Centre is a big one and like all big companies of today, they always think they are right instead of their customers! angry
Finally, the Data Centre and our web Host have determined a scheduled day to perform the maintenance on the server. If you are visiting us at that time you may or may not be able to connect to our site. The length of the planned server outage is currently unknown as it depends on the extent of the work the technicians have to perform. sad

Please note that the maintenance date is fixed at Sunday - May 23, 2004 at 14:00PM Kuala Lumpur time.(+8:00GMT)

We are sorry for the inconvenience however this is a necessary maintenance for the smooth running of this server and website. We hope to see you again when the maintenance is over with a more stable and faster server. smile

A new look on the way
We are in the midst of giving our website a new facelift. You may have noticed that some of the pages look different and that is because of "work in progress"! We apologise for any inconvenience caused during this renovation period of our site. wink The web pages will look more professional and easier to navigate for human and non human visitors when we are done with the facelift. smile
We have included some text based ads from Googles on our web pages which we hope will help contribute to our running cost so we can continue to make our site better and better. tongue

A user report on FileZilla, freeware FTP client
We uploaded a new article titled "FileZilla, freeware FTP client, a user report" We used many freeware FTP client and find this one among the very best. So we wrote a user report to share with anyone interested to know more about this open source FTP client. wink
The latest news on Fillezilla is that the current release under development is version 2.2.5 and that it will be the last of Filezilla version 2 when it comes out. After that FileZilla development will branched off to FZ3, a total redesign with new source tree for Filezilla version 3. It is said that version 2 has reached its maximum complexity and is becoming more and more difficult for the team to add new features so a totally new release from scratch is necessary. FZ3 or Filezilla version 3 will also be developed for cross platform in mind so good news for Mac and Linux users! smile
You can read more about this new development at Filezilla Forum.
